More About La Jolla Shores

Have a pup? During the winter time, dogs are only allowed on the beach after 4 pm and, during the rest of the year, after 6 pm. We want to warn you now, so that you don’t find the perfect parking spot, lay out your beach towel and then find out sweet Rover cannot lay on the sand with you! Because this spot is so family-oriented, safety is a top priority. This can be witnessed by the new lifeguard stands headed at the most popular parts of the beach, like the beach area nearest the main parking lot and the playground.

You can swim, sun, lounge, bike, run & more here. Also closeby you can rent kayaks, etc. if you're more adventurous. Fun fact: La Jolla Shores is adjacent to the San Diego La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve and is one of nine beaches that has permanent lifeguard stations patrolled by San Diego Lifeguards. Scuba classes are held here.
