Gaslamp Quarter

Downtown is the hub of San Diego when it comes to nightlife, the arts, and dining. Within a compact 16-block radius, you’ll find the historic Gaslamp Quarter where Victorian-era buildings and ultra-modern skyscrapers intermingle to create a stunning cityscape. There are more than 100 of the city’s finest restaurants, pubs, nightclubs, and shops, in addition to residential lofts and modern live/work spaces. At night, the area comes alive with theater productions, live music, dancing, and craft cocktails (and of course, a San Diego staple – craft beer).

Guide to Downtown San Diego:

Downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp Quarter are the city’s center for a reason! With more than 100 different restaurants, pubs, theaters, and venues to choose from, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. Let us be your guide to exploring everything downtown San Diego has to offer!

Lots to see and experience in this section of San Diego. Short walk from the train, Petco Field, Convention center and other sites. Great eating. Wide array of options from upscale Nobu to more sports bars/Starbucks/Hard Rock. Good hotel options in the neighborhood as well. Of course you have to take the iconic picture of the arch over the street.

I love this area of SD. Chock full of shops, eateries and drinkeries. (I have a special affinity for drinkeries). I have meandered around the area quite a bit during my visits, most of which were unfortunately business related, (as opposed to pleasure). However, this last trip was just that, pleasure, so I was able to take in the sights, especially because I wasn't driving.

Fantastic area to walk around, so some shopping and get a bite to eat, either breakfast, lunch or dinner.
