Coronado Island lies south of San Diego and about 25 minutes from La Jolla. It’s one of the most family-friendly areas in San Diego and its wide, sandy beaches literally sparkle thanks to the mineral mica in its golden sand. There are multiple beaches here; though there are some parks with a small sandy area in front, there are five main accessible beaches in Coronado. All of them are equipped with convenient amenities, and none are too far from the local shops, restaurants, and other things to do in Coronado.

I cannot say enough about this beach. The only difference between it and Panama City beach Florida is about 20゚ in temperature. The water is cold but the beach was beautiful. Wondetful

Life's a beach! One of our priorities for visiting San Diego was visiting a beach, and San Diego Yelpers, you did not disappoint! Thank you for steering me in the right direction, because now I know why Coronado Beach is so special to the San Diego community.

This beach is beautiful! On the drive there you cross over this huge bridge! It's really cool! The sand has sparkles! The sand is soft. It looks beautiful like there's diamonds, glitter in the water. It's pretty flat not much bumps when walking towards the ocean.
